Five Basic Components of the
NTeQ Philosophy
1. the teacher is technologically competent and assumes the roles of designer, manager
and facilitator (Lowther, Bassappa-Mayo and Morrison 1998)
2. the student actively engages in the learning process, assumes the role of researcher
and becomes technologically competent.
3. the computer is a tool as it is in the workplace. to enhance learning through
the use of the real world data to solve problems
4. the learning is student-centered, problem-based and authentic and technolgoy is
an integral component
5. the environment incorporates multiple resource-rich activities
